Plastic cutting boards constitute the correct base for cutting using high-quality kitchen knives. The material is gentle on the blades and is completely taste neutral. The plastic cutting boards have the advantage that it is easy to clean and is hygienically cleaned in a dishwasher. A juice rim prevents the juice which emerges during the cutting process on a cutting board from running onto the working surface. For a normal household, we recommend at least 2 cutting boards in different sizes for preparing smaller and larger amounts. Due to the danger of salmonella, in hot months you should have two different cutting boards to hand. One should be used for at risk foods such as eggs and poultry. WMF provides cutting boards made of glass and stone - although these are hygienic and easy to clean, but the hard surfaces soon cause sharp knives to become blunt.
